The Kingdom Culture of Communicated Appreciation
“Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the Name of the LORD Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.”
Colossians 3:16–17

Dearly beloved,

I welcome you to the maiden edition of the monthly RCCGNA newsletter with a heart focused on pastoral care – eCare for Pastors. Here we are again at the time of year when festivity is in the air and the love and joy of family is anticipated. However, we all know, as Christians and particularly as Redeemites, that giving thanks and doing so joyously and lovingly cannot be confined to one day a year. As Redeemites, we have the tradition of celebrating the opportunity for thanksgiving to God the first Sunday of every month.

I stand before you all today as the Chairman of RCCGNA and my heart is directed towards all RCCGNA pastors brimming with gratitude and appreciation. Without you and the established chain of command, RCCGNA will not be what it is today. We certainly will not be in every region of North America as our presence is felt today if it all had to be done by me alone. I am finite and confined to this one body and a singular geographical location at a time, being mortal.

My appreciation of you is not only because we are so many and have spread out so far abroad. Rather, I am grateful that you know me – my faults and strengths, my lack and advantageous successes. Yet, here you still are, serving with me in the trenches, determined that the vision of RCCGNA will not die, no matter what. Your presence in this ministry makes it possible for me to go further, deeper, higher than I could have ever attained by my own prowess.

I want you all to know that I love you, I appreciate you and I pray for you daily. Your successes become mine not because I am better than any one of you. Rather, it is God Who has appointed, in His infinite sovereignty, that we will be identified as a unit on this battlefront. Daily, we wrestle over souls and destinies that hell may be frustrated and the gates of heaven flooded with sons and daughters of the only wise God.

This Thanksgiving, know with great certainty that the best is yet to come for you and for me and for RCCGNA. May the LORD God of heaven richly bless you.
